  • Kamila CK is an interdisciplinary Polish-British artist merging boundaries between Japanese Zen calligraphy (shodo), contemporary abstract painting and performance work (including dance and circus) in a contemporary art context.

Interdisciplinary Polish-British artist merging boundaries between performance art (circus, movement, dance, musicality) abstract painting and Japanese Zen ink painting in a contemporary art context.

When she turned 30, Kamila decided to leave her full-time occupation to become an artist in 2018. Since then, she studied at Slade School of Fine Arts in London and completed a Professional Course in Circus Arts with AirCraft Circus Academy, London. She also visited Japan multiple times and had the great fortune of studying the spiritual painting practice known as “shodo” in Japanese Zen calligraphy under Japanese teacher, Rie Takeda. This way of painting became a cornerstone in her artworks, combined with five years of movement-based performance practices including trapeze, aerial hoop, and silks.

In her interdisciplinary practice, she attempts to change people’s vibration using visual storytelling, movement, colours and consciousness stimulating messages.

Her performance and visual works have been exhibited and staged in London by Laura I Gallery, Affordable Art Fair, Bloomsbury Theatre and Greenwich Circus Festival as well as abroad including NG Residency and Gallery, France and Florence Contemporary Gallery, Italy (international finalist 2022). Her works are held in private collections in the UK, US, France and Poland.

Kamila CK lives and works between Lincoln and London, UK.
