WE WANT TO WORK WITH YOU TO AID YOUR DEVELOPMENT AND IN DOING SO HELP THE WORLD!
Our Mission
As strong believers that art can cause positive change in people and communities, our mission is to highlight artists whose passion is revolutionary, those whose art speaks louder than a thousand words. Through the creation of innovative routes to help access creative work that unites and bonds countries, and nations.
We support a new world and take care of what’s around us. With this in mind, for every individual piece of artwork we sell, we promise to plant a sapling/tree, to ensure the sustainable life of the planet, and a lasting legacy.
Our vision
Revolutionary art is, in every way, what we aspire to. From the stone age days when caves were adorned with painted scenes depicting the brutality of everyday life, fighting and overcoming strange mythical beasts, through to more tranquil community scenes. Art has played a pivotal role in our lives. The original artisan artists had little or no way to express themselves, to show their passion, get their voice heard, or to show individuality. Artists were often called upon by those who wielded power and authority to create portraits or landscapes, none of which influenced or reached out to society. It was the Renaissance that first formulated the use of art as a form of expression, depicting independent thought, and allowing imagination and thought processes to create revolutionary art.
Throughout the centuries, many artists have played a significant role in shaping the history of the world. Creating artwork that is thought-provoking and has a profound meaning, often depicting visions of social progress. Munch, Daumier, and Goya have all depicted scenes of social isolation, dark and bleak scenes and deprivation that caused changes in social cohesion wellbeing, and interaction. New, brave techniques and expressive styles were the fundamental basics of work by revolutionary artists, such as Rivera and Kollwitz. Then we have Matisse, Cezanne, Manet and Picasso to name but a few. All are artists who painted an insightful vision of their particular era.
WE WANT PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS WHO PAINT A MESSAGE!
Today, art offers and means different things to different audiences. It does not necessarily have to bear a meaning. For many, it’s decorative, aesthetically pleasing, and colourful, whatever, the reason, art has an attachment to people, it possesses a means of storytelling, it is the perfect tool to develop social change. Art is a universal language that can be understood by different cultures, it influences people. Art is beautiful, art is political, art can be accessible to all, art challenges, and art is expressive.
Some art is viewed as lazy, put together in a few moments, it offers little in the way of real expression, it serves a purpose and is reactionary to consumerism. This in itself is demeaning to more innovator artists, who are losing opportunities and recognition.
AS ARTISTS WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
This is why the Laura I. Art Gallery has created a community of innovators. We want like minded artists to join us. We will expose and encourage new artists of a new era who will produce works dictating societies capability and the human potential to achieve.
Art is more than just drawing, it is a commitment, it is a responsibility that we want each of our artists to promote across the world.
Laura’s story:
Our gallery is dedicated in discovering and supporting artists who can represent the qualities of our gallery director Laura Iosifescu.
Laura is a symbol of resilience, perseverance and creative innovation. She is a modern day ambassador for change.
From humble beginnings, Laura’s life wasn’t easy. Since the early days of her childhood she endured violence, abuse and poverty and she became a victim of bullies. That didn’t stop her. At the tender age of ten she started her first business. The only escape she had from persecution was to escape from her country. Eventually she arrived in the UK. Here, she struggled immensely, she was homeless, she escaped from human traffickers but at this point she was an illegal immigrant, could not speak the English language and had no one to support her.
Laura had a dream, and that was to make a difference in the World. Her goal is to create a change where people live in harmony and are treated equally. From her early days, she has always strived to be the best version of herself and has been inspired to test boundaries and limitations as a form of escapism from the haunting voices of the past, who doubted her and insisted that nothing that she believed in was possible.
Her passion, resilience and ambition is reflected not only in her activities and projects at the gallery, but in her own art practice. She created the FIRST wearable art, made entirely from paint and other amazing works that push boundaries while using handmade technology to manipulate her mediums to another level.
From nothing, Laura has created and is now running a Multi-Award Winning Art gallery. It is her vision to create opportunities to talented artists who are struggling to have their voice heard or sell their art.
Laura is excited and driven to discover and support creative artists similar to her, a testimony to greatness. Talent and perseverance are further attributes that represent the ethos of our gallery.
Please note that this process works on a first come first served basis, however, applying quickly cannot guarantee your place. If your work is successful in fitting our criteria of selection, you will be contacted as soon as possible.
