I drew this while I was on a beach in Sardinia, Italy. I did not feel like sunbathing or swimming in the sea, but instead sat on a cooler spot in the shade and opened my sketchbook. I was watching the waves ripple in the late August light, aware that summer was slowly fading away. This character came to me, sadly drifting alone in the middle of the sea. There is something icy and winter-like about its appearance, with the predominance of white and blue colours. The character’s spiky hair looks like icicles, and the texture surrounding its head like snow. It seems stuck in the water, unable to move, frozen in movement.
