“Aerial Enso – The Dance of Colour & Chance” No. 8
Date: 18.08.2024
Interdisciplinary and unique artwork created live during the debut of “The Circle of Everything” at Camden Fringe, Cockpit Theatre, on August 18, 2024.
Combining traditional Japanese calligraphy techniques with contemporary visual performance, this piece captures the dynamic energy and fluidity of the live event, making it a unique addition to any collection.
About the Artwork:
This Enso, an iconic symbol of Zen Buddhism, represents unity, enlightenment, strength, and elegance. Painted in one fluid masterstroke and a single breath, it captures the essence of being in the flow, reflecting the Zen philosophy of synchronicity and life force energy.
Created by artist Kamila CK, this large-scale Enso was painted live and used as part of chirography of the performance. In the final scene of the performance, the vibrant red and gold inks were added from above using the energy of gravity and the movement of a spinning aerial hoop. This mix approach makes this piece a unique blend of deliberate action and chance.
