Shade of Autumn
Categories:All Artworks£2,600.00Shade of Autumn is a large 60x36x1.5 inches oil on canvas painting of a glowing autumn forest clearing with a fallow deer buck beginning to materialize on the right. A ‘shade’ is an old word meaning spirit – hence the title. I used very vibrant colours to reflect the colours of autumn and was thinking of one particular pocket of woodland near to where I live which has a clearing like this where I often expect magic to occur when I walk through it. It rarely happens in ‘real life’ so I painted some instead. The painting is large enough to have some presence to it and the colours alter throughout the day as is normal with oil paint and is the reason I love it. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, no frame needed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
