Description
The impulse to create the latter painting was a moment captured by a friend during the opening of a solo exhibition in Kaunas.
My transparent silhouette revealed in the photograph and the paintings focused in the background correlated with the idea expressed by the American existentialist psychologist Rollo May (1909-1994) in the book “The Courage to Create”, that creativity is a constant struggle with extinction. This book I read some time ago and the idea expressed by the author have already became my creative credo.
After all, every person is looking for a way to give meaning to his temporary life on earth, how to extend his existence, not in a physical form, but in a spiritual one. Some give meaning to their lives by creating a family, others by seeking career goals, achieving public missions, or creating. The paintings are my children, my future, which will tell about my life, experiences, which I believe are timeless.
