Description
Enso, the iconic circular symbol, considered to be the pinnacle of Zen Buddhism. Empty yet full, infinite yet complete. It symbolises unity, enlightment, strength and elegance in all its purity and simplicity.
It reflects Japanese aesthetics and Zen-philosophy of capturing being in a flow with energy. The artist paints the circle in one breath, with no corrections permitted afterwards. A minimalistic Zen artwork showing synchronicities and life force energy expressed in the moment.
”The circle brushes itself in a synchronistic way, with very little effort and control by the artist. The true creative spirit takes over and the work creates itself beyond anyone’s expectations.” Glassman, Infinite Circle – Teachings in Zen
This painted work is part of the artist’s ongoing practice of Enso painting since 2018 as a gateway to synchronicities in painting. Following her visits to Japan in 2018 and 2019, Kamila CK has been studying the traditional art of Japanese calligraphy known as shodo from a Japanese teacher Rie Takeda. Over the years, Kamila has developed her own painting style blending Zen elements with her other practice of aerial movement and performance.
This Enso was painted as big as physically possible to allow space for a human body to move inside it for the purpose of performance’s chirography.
The work can be displayed vertically or horizontally, the artist signature has been purposely placed at the back to allow flexibility in display.
This artwork is a performative piece and, as part of its creation process, it may display minor signs of use or handling. These subtle marks are integral to the authenticity of the work and reflect the dynamic, live performance from which it was born.
Shipping: The artwork will be shipped in a well-secured long tube, ready for framing or mounting of your choice.
