The tree is a recurrent motif in my work and I like to subvert it in many ways. In this case, the roots have been transformed into octopus tentacles, showcasing the tree’s enigmatic quality. The tree embodies the notion of rootlessness and has been set free in some sense, roaming the sea like an underwater creature.
