Description

Undulations visual relationships are adjusted and built in layers of colour and can exist spatially behind, beside or in front of each other.  The complex rhythmic interactions which develop in the painting, pulsate with energy produced by the vivid and optical colour placements which develop a distinctive range of non figurative patterns that are intuitively created by hand. In this artwork I am exploring my own consciousness as awareness of the “Thought Patterns”  I have when I start the journey of developing a painting.

Starting  with a series of random chaotic drawings in pencil, I make a series of conscious decision-making moments by identifying patterns or set of relationships within the chaos through the medium of paint.   Through choosing colour, shape, form and placements in space,  to make sense of the random starting point, I am mapping my own conscious awareness within the process. I am seeking to develop and expand my own consciousness through the imaginative development of each artwork.

The personal journey for me is to make sense from the randomness of my first thoughts drawn on paper or in this case cradleboard to develop a pulsating energetic imprint of my own state of mind in each unique artwork.
