Degard

Artist Statement

Degard is a visionary artist whose spiritual experiences began at a very young age. At the tender age of two, she felt the benevolent presence of the Virgin Mary while at pre – school. These experiences continued throughout her childhood, but it wasn’t until she reached the age of 20 that she felt safe enough to begin expressing this through paint.

Degard’s approach to creating her art is unique. She asks questions of the Akashic Record/Universal Mind/God/Angelic Presences such as asking for the aura of something or someone, and the Record would reveal it to her in paint. Her connection to the spiritual realm and her ability to access information has helped her to gain insights into many topics, including Covid-19, long before science caught up.

Degard is a fine artist with a BA from Chelsea College of Art and an MRes from the Royal College of Art. Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate in Fine Art at the University of East London. She has exhibited her works extensively in London, New York, and Oman.

Degard is the founder of the Contemporary Visionary genre and regularly curates exhibitions that focus on this genre. She recently acquired a disused traditional red phone box on Great Russell Street in London, which she has re-purposed as London’s smallest art gallery.

In addition to her art, Degard is also a member of The Colour Group, The Galileo Commission, and The Scientific and Medical Network. She serves as a trustee for the London Art and Education Foundation.

Degard is passionate about bringing art into other areas of life. She has worked with Anxiety UK to bring art into the realm of mental health for example. Degard has hosted talks on art at the Royal Society of Arts, where she is a Fellow.

Degard’s connection to the spiritual realm, combined with her artistic talents, makes her a unique visionary artist. Her contributions to the art world and her efforts to bring art into new realms are sure to leave a lasting impact.

Degard says “My Art offers the viewer a vision into the world of energies and presences and how these energies affect all of our affairs, lives, emotions. With true understanding i hope we can find that elusive peace within ourselves and for our communities.”
