Oba Moyo
I am a visual artist who shares the way he sees the world through photography and visual art. By sharing my point of view with the world a part of me seeks understanding, experiencing these fragments of my perspective is a way a seek to be understood beyond words. And this process of interpreting my experiences helps me better understand who I am.
Artist Statement
Oluwakayode Moyosade also known as Oba Moyo is a visual artist who uses photography as a tool for introspection. As photography narrows his vision to reflect on the world around him the artist seeks to better understand himself and his society. He also considers his art as a means of sharing his current opinions with his future selves.
His work explores themes such as religion, consciousness, politics, depression and human emotions. Besides photography he expresses himself through music and film. He participated in the 2021 North Louisiana residency, and worked on an audio-visual collaborative project with American visual artist Chris King to be exhibited in Louisiana in 2022. His work has been exhibited in the Hangs & Colors Exhibition in 2021 as well as the Arnheim collection 3 in 2022. He’s also been featured in several virtual exhibitions.
He currently lives in London where he’s exploring film, music and tech.
