Roland Kaiser
I am a german artist, emphasizing sustainability by using recycled material for my art infusing them with emotion, creativity,
and spirit. My fascination for colors, shapes and the possibility to create, combined with empathy and the feeling to be responsible
for how to deal with material and resources, led me to bringing life to abandoned, broken and neglected everyday items by healing and repurposing them into contemporary works of art, looking and feeling brand new. That's why I invented the Recycling Art Concept in 1990: to collect, order, heal and restore material and media, carefully putting them together and "resurrect" them to new life. Artist Statement
Roland was born in 1962 in Pulheim, Cologne– area in Germany. Especially since some crucial times in hospital in his early youth he felt the need expressing himself via drawing and painting and developed it further.
In 1979 he moved to Cologne – the ‘big’ city.
1990 Invention of the Recycling-Art-Concept, which basically is founded on the principle to use used and found material and media for creating art and developing it to a better self – looking and feeling brand new.
1992 Digital art – working titles: “Brushes“, “Flames” and “Sculpts”
1994 TREE_ART series
1995 1st ART_DISK was created: “Was ist Kunst?” / “What is art?” -> the SCAR_Art (SC_ART)– and DISK_ART– series followed
In the 90s 1st exhibitions in Cologne
1997 1st. Internet- exhibition “Back to Basics“
In the meanwhile he exhibits also on international ground like the art- scene in Barcelona, Dublin and London.

Roland’s idea was and still is to create sustainable Art and at the same time saving resources due to the responsibility modern man has with regards to material and nature; long before this was discovered by the public.
Dr. Erich Franz, former deputy artistic director of the Westphalian State Museum for Art and Cultural History in Münster, once wrote about his artworks in 1996:
“…[they are] put together carefully and do so also in leading to different moments of stability and movement. Also the clashes of colors are not without a silent form of energy.“
